President Pranab Mukherjee’s wife critical

Suvra Mukherjee, wife of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, has been admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital and her condition is said to be critical. Suvra has been ill for the past few days and she was taken to the hospital on Friday and kept in the ICU.

Suvra is a heart patient and she had been suffering from respiratory problems. The Rashtrapati Bhavan surfers said that Suvra collapsed suddenly on Friday evening. President Pranab Mukherjee, who was on a 2-day tour in Odisha, has cut short his trip and flew down to Delhi immediately.

Doctors attending the country’s first lady have refused to comment on her health status. However, Suvra Mukherjee may have to stay some more days in the ICU.  Pranab Mukherjee and Suvra Mukherjee have been married for 58 years since 1957 and they have three children.
