Maruti Suzuki Baleno, India’s biggest carmaker’s first premium hatchback, was launched today at a starting price of 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Baleno with a host of well-rounded features steps into an intensely cut-throat segment with cars like the Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and Volkswagen Polo.

The newest Maruti Suzuki hatchback gets 2 engine options, a petrol and a diesel, along with a choice of 2 gearboxes. Maruti Suzuki Baleno diesel’s price starts at 6.16 lakh and goes all the way up to 8.11 lakh. One must note the aforementioned prices are introductory.
