Amarinder Singh sworn-in as Punjab CM

Capt. Amarinder Singh on Thursday was sworn in as Chief Minister of Punjab in Chandigarh in the presence of Congress leaders, including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Capt. Amarinder was administered oath of office and secrecy by Punjab Governor V.P. Singh Badnore at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Punjab Raj Bhawan.  Along with him nine legislators (MLA’s) took the oath for the office.

While Capt. Amarinder took the oath as the 26th Chief Minister of the State, Congress MLA’s including – Braham Mohindra, Manpreet Badal, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Tript Rajinder Bajwa, Rana Gurjeeet, Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as Cabinet Ministers. Newly elected women legislators Aruna Chaudhary and Razia Sultana took oath as Minister of State.
