Dahanu Bordi Beach
Dahanu is also known for its vast chikoo fruit orchids. Dahanu is 145 km away from Mumbai that comes under Thane district of Maharashtra. And Thane district is again known for its 17 km long sea line that stretches from Dahanu to Bordi.
Bordi is half-hours drive away from Dahanu. Here, one can find endless beaches, which are very safe and beautiful. Although, it is quite warm during summer, the gentle breeze cools down the entire beach.
Mecca of the Zoroastrians is a place, which is very popular amongst tourists as there is a magnificent temple, which houses the sacred fire of the Zoroastrians. It is believed that this fire has been kept alive for almost a thousand years. The existence of Iranian and Persian culture further makes this place more exotic.
This connected beach at Dahanu is located at small village called Bordi, famous for its boarding schools and other educational centers. For a peaceful and pollution free weekend, bordi beach is a ideal serene location. Nearest station to bordi is Gholvad (Gujarat State Borders), famous for Chickoo Wadi (Huge Chikoo orchards Farms) and Gholvad is just next station to Dahanu road.
This clean and safe beach near Mumbai, once unexplored by tourists and just visited among local villagers is now a famous picnic spot and a weekend destination to relax, getting lazy at beach side and attraction to beach bums. The climate / temperature at both Dahanu and Bordi beach is extreme, But not chilled and hot enough that need so much of precautions, So relax and enjoy your tour with ease. Due to the recognition and property growth in Dahanu Boisar location the tourist and local Mumbai people are getting aware of such beautiful beaches and so the growth and attraction of crowd towards it.
The beach has palm trees, coconut trees and a camping ground for those over night picnic on beach lovers, Since bordi is a small village there is no more of attraction near and it is preferred to carry some food, water and other belonging when you start. This coconut and palm shade on beach helps summer visitors with shades and the light salty breeze. One can find stray dogs and bullock carts also on beach, this is how the village life is and somewhere the natural way of life.
The beach water is something which may make you little upset during day hours as the sea moves far away from shore by evening 5 to 6 pm. Only full moon and few other days when the beach water touches the shore and people enjoy getting into sea for a nice quick swim on the shore, the other days sea water is about 40 to 50 meters away from shore. You can rent umbrella, enjoy ice candies, Coconut water, Tadgola’s and other eateries with hawkers near shore.

By Railway : From Mumbai there are many passenger trains (Surat shuttle, Saurashtra Express from Dadar) regularly starting from Mumbai Central so catch any from Borivali / Virar and get down at Gholvad station, From there take a share auto (Approximate charge within Rs.10/-) or private auto (between Rs.25/- to 40/-). Time taken to reach this beach is just 15 to 20 minutes. Some other options and trains like DMU (Memu trains) starting from Virar has final halting station as Dahanu at every 1 hour, so keep a note of same.
